We want to create a web site that will work for you and achieve the goals that you set for it. The site can be as simple as a single page offering your customers and prospective customers a point of contact through to a complete on line application with full ecommerce facilities. Whatever the case it's important to consider how the site will work best for you and pass this on to us so that we can help you.

Here are a few suggestions to get you thinking

What is the site's image going to be?

Do you have existing printed or multi-media materials that reflect the image and personality of your business? Do you have a brand image that should be maintained on the internet? Are there existing colours or logos that need to be used in your new website? Let us know what you like and what you don’t like, maybe use photos or pages from magazines and brochures that have caught your attention. If you’ve seen any websites that you really like, let us know the address and we’ll take a look.

Art work & image content

If you have existing art work and logos etc that you use in other areas or on your current website these will be very useful to us. We can advise on the best format to give us. Any photographs that you own or have permission to use will also be useful, but if you don’t have any we can arrange for photography or access to thousands of very low cost images

Check out other sites

Do a search and take a look at other sites for companies in the same industry as you to see which ones are effective and would appeal to your customers; your site needs to do the same (only better!!)

Written content

Decide what message you want to convey to people visiting your site. Put yourself in their shoes or a minute and try to imagine what it is they need to know by visiting your website. Decide on the goals of the site and what you want it to achieve for you. Is it a site to sell something directly to your customers? Is it to generate new enquiries? Is it to answer frequently asked questions to cut down on telephone enquiries? It’s important to decide on what you want the site to do for you and write the content accordingly.

Site structure

Now that you’ve got an idea of the content of the site, decide on how it might be structured in terms of pages. It’s worth keeping in mind again the purpose of the site and the needs of your visitors. You want people to be able to get to the information that they want very quickly and not to get lost in too much information. Imagine what the main sections will be and these will form the site menu. Have a look at other web sites to get some ideas.

When you’ve got the basics of all these things, get in touch and we’ll help you decide how to put it all together in the most cost effective way. If everything’s a complete blank we’ll come and go through the process with you.
